Welcome to St. Hugh's
St Hugh's Church is the home of the Catholic Community in Knaphill, just outside Woking, Surrey. St Hugh's is part of the Woking Deanery in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
Our present church was built in 1971 but has since had improvements which include a hearing induction loop system and wheelchair access.
We cover the villages of Knaphill, Chobham, Pirbright, Bisley, West End, Brookwood and part of Goldsworth Park and St John's, all of which lie to the west of Woking in Surrey. The church itself is located in a residential street off the main High Street in Knaphill. We have our own car park opposite the church.
We are a friendly parish with a large number of families. Our 9:30 am Sunday mass is a 'family' mass with special time out for young children.
We offer a wide range of activities, both sacramental and social, including Baptism and First Holy Communion, Justice and Peace, Care Group, Prayer Groups and Young People's Groups.
We work together with other churches locally on projects such as the Kings House Coffee Shop in Knaphill.
Newcomers are always welcome to our community. Do come and join in and introduce yourselves if you are in the area.
Car Parking : The parish has its own car park opposite the church in Victoria Road. Please try to park in the car park if
you are visiting the church. There are reserved spaces for Blue Badge holders outside the church. If the car park is full
and you have to park on the road, please ensure that your car is carefully parked, leaving pavements clear and free access
for residents. Most importantly, please ensure that there is adequate clearance for the emergency services.
Please be aware that buses and HGVs also use Victoria Road from time to time and these are generally wider vehicles requiring
more space for manoeuvre. Don't risk letting the bus scrape through - it may be your car it scrapes!
