Foundation Masses

Do you have a loved one who you remember each year by having a Mass said? Were you aware that Foundation Masses can be arranged to ensure that a Mass is said each year for 25 years on the donors chosen date? The cost of a Foundation Mass is £300 and the money is invested by the Diocese with the interest being used to fund the Mass intention. If you are interested in exploring this please speak to the Parish Priest. More details are available on the Diocesan information sheet.

First Holy Communion

The First Holy Communion Programme which starts every September/October is for children in Year 3 and their parents - who prepare for their First Holy Communion in June the following year. The programme consists of parents and children meeting with catechists and adult group leaders respectively once a month on a Tuesday from 6.30pm-8pm followed by the Eucharistic Mass on the following Sunday at 11.30am Mass. For more information please contact Becky Underwood by email at

Luncheon Club

The Luncheon Club is for senior citizens and meets on Thursdays in the Church Hall. All helpers - including the cook - are volunteers whose efforts are very much appreciated. They are invited to the annual Christmas party that takes place in January and a get-together - usually in the summer. Without drivers and kitchen help (cooking; preparing vegetables; washing up) and also putting tables out or away - the Club could not operate. If you would like to join our friendly team by helping with any of these tasks on a rota; occasional or emergency basis - or would like to become a Club member please call Audrey Jane or Roz on 07816 030880.

Confessions or Sacrament of Reconciliation

Confessions Saturday 5pm to 5.30 pm Every priest is always happy to hear confessions at any time. Confession or the Sacrament of Reconciliation is an important aspect of our Catholic life. Confessions are heard in the church on Saturdays at 5pm until 5.30 pm. They can be heard at other times by request or on call. The Catechism of the Church has this to say which puts it rather well. The spiritual effects of the sacrament of Penance are reconciliation with God by which the penitent recovers grace reconciliation with the Church remission of the eternal punishment incurred by mortal sins remission at least in part of temporal punishments resulting from sin peace and serenity of conscience and spiritual consolation an increase of spiritual strength for the Christian battle.
